Before you start

  • A compatible Android-based Fire TV device that supports APK installation
  • The Downloader app on the target device, or access to the official Player APK
  • A ChannelDeck account and your authorized M3U or Xtream Codes source

Set up your device

  1. Check that your Fire TV can install Android APKs

These instructions apply to compatible Android-based Fire TV devices. A Fire TV name alone does not establish Android APK compatibility. Check the operating system and installation support for your model before continuing. ChannelDeck Mobile is the phone application; use Player for the television.

  2. Install the official Player APK

Open ChannelDeck’s Downloads section on your phone or computer and locate the Player Downloader reference code. Open Downloader on the Fire TV and type that code there. Follow the device’s installation prompts and allow installation for Downloader if requested. Permission names and menu locations vary by model. Open ChannelDeck Player when installation completes.

  3. Activate the Fire TV

Keep the activation code visible on the television. On a phone or computer, visit channeldeck.online/activate, register or sign in to your ChannelDeck account, and enter that code. Wait for confirmation on the TV. Free includes one active device and one source; plan and device allowances are explained on Pricing.

  4. Add your source and test one channel

Choose M3U or Xtream Codes in source setup and enter the details supplied by your authorized source. Add the XMLTV guide address if available. Open a channel and check playback and schedules before enabling optional recording or Multi-view.

Troubleshooting

If the installer will not open

Confirm the download is the Player APK from the official Downloads section and that the device supports Android APK installation. Check installation permission for the app opening the APK. A device using a different operating system may not be able to install this package.

Why DVR or Multi-view may be unavailable

DVR recording and Multi-view require Fire OS 8 on Android API 30 or newer. ChannelDeck disables these workloads on older Fire OS devices because they can restart older hardware. Other supported features remain available. An allowed feature still depends on decoding capacity, source limits and network conditions.

If channels load but the guide is empty

Check the XMLTV address separately from the playlist address and verify that its channel identifiers match your lineup. Refresh the current source and EPG. A working video stream does not establish that its schedule data is present; use the guide-matching instructions below.
